Obama Slams Kanye

large_taylorkanye.jpg

It seems the incident that happened over the weekend at the MTV Video Music Awards is only getting more attention as the week continues on. Celebrities and other public figures are jumping in with their own thoughts on what happened Sunday night when Taylor Swift won the award for Best Female Video. If you recall, Kanye jumped on stage from the audience, took the microphone from her and said friend Beyonce should have won.

The performer has been slammed repeatedly since the incident, and he has apologized more than once for his actions. His latest apology came last night as he sat across from Jay Leno during the premiere of NBC’s all-new The Jay Leno Show. President Barack Obama has even jumped in with his own thoughts calling Kanye a jackass, which is also sparking some controversy. The comment was made off the record during an interview with a reporter from CNBC, but a reporter from a rival network posted the comment to his Twitter shortly after it was said.

What do you think? Is this incident getting more attention than it deserves or do you agree with what people are saying? Check out the video of Kanye from last night’s Jay Leno Show below.

Sarah Palin Heads To Divorce Court

Published by Regina Avalos under politics Edit This

_45112883_palin_afp466b.jpg

Sarah Palin really hasn’t had the best year, has she? The former Alaska governor didn’t get to move to the White House, her daughter, only 17 at the time, had a baby, she stepped as Alaska governor, and now we have word this weekend that she is now divorcing her husband, Todd Palin. This has been in the works for awhile apparently. Sarah has plans to move to Montana to a piece of land she bought. She stopped wearing her wedding ring a few weeks ago.

Word also has it she is planning to write a book? Who knew politics could be just as interesting as any soap opera on daytime television? Do you think she will still be able to run for office in the next big election? Something tells me those chances are getting slimmer and slimmer.  What do you think of all these happenings in Sarah Palin’s life? Would have they have affected her ability to be a good vice president if she had been elected into office alongside John McCain.

Obama Loves WII

Published by Regina Avalos under politics Edit This

Barack Obama is getting ready to take his new office and move into the White House. Right now, he is enjoying his last few days of freedom before things get hectic. Some of that time lately has been spent on playing with the WII his daughter received for Christmas. He is enjoying the new gadget, and he has plans to continue using it in the future. His favorite seems to be WII Bowling. Even the President of the United States needs a way to relax, and if this is the way Barack Obama chooses to do that then more power to him. Everyone needs a little fun in their lives!

Trouble At The Palin’s House

2831512318_f70459fccf.jpg

News has broke that the mother of the man that is the father of Bristol Palin’s baby has been arrested on drug charges. Levi Johnston found out the bad news on Thursday. Apparently, his mother was arrested by Alaska State Troopers as part of a drug bust. She is now up on six felony drug charges. Meanwhile, the mother of his child, Bristol Palin, is due to deliver his child any day now. It seems Sarah Palin can’t really catch a break. You have to wonder what will happen next? Anyone have any guesses on that? Last week, her church burned down. Then the turkey fiasco, and well there is also the whole losing election thing.

George Bush Gets Shoes

Published by Regina Avalos under politics, video Edit This

The soon to be former president George Bush made an unexpected stop in Baghdad this weekend, and during a press conference in Iraq’s capital city, a reporter became so upset at Bush that he threw two shoes at the political leader. There is even video footage of the incident, and the reporter is now sitting in jail while it is decided if charges should be pressed against him. I am sure the man only did what many would have liked to do, but never would! Check out the video footage of the incident below. The man could be charged with assault if it is found he is mentally stable.

Palin Apologizes For Church Fire

Published by Regina Avalos under politics Edit This

Sarah Palin’s church burned down to the ground this weekend causing approximately 1 million in damage. She immediately apologized for the incident as she hoped it wasn’t related to her failed run for Vice President. The church had appeared in videos on Youtube that have caused just a bit of a stir as the video shows the pastor of the church trying to cure Palin of witchcraft. Odd video! I really doubt someone would burn down her church though. Then again the world is full of crazy people. What do you think? Is someone trying to get back at Palin for her failed attempt?

Oprah Will Just Say No

oprah_obama_wideweb__470x3170.jpg

Oprah seems to be thinking ahead here. Way ahead. She has told AP Television that if Barack Obama was to ask her to take a position in his new administration, she would just say no. She is just too busy with her other commitments right now. Had he asked her? Had he mentioned asking her? Oprah is not a politician. She doesn’t hold any office anywhere. Why would he ask her to become a member of his administration? Oprah being asked and then having to say no is just stupid. If he really asked her to take part, I don’t think she would be so quick to turn him down. Just saying.

Barack Obama Elected President

Published by Regina Avalos under politics Edit This

Whether you voted Democrat or Republican, we all know that history was made on this night in 2008. Shortly after 8pm Pacific Standard Time, Barack Obama took California, and he was named president. At the age of 47, he is one of the youngest men to hold the office. John F. Kennedy was younger.

Senator Obama will be the 44th President of the United States. Within an hour of McCain’s consession speech, Obama took the stage at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois to give an inspiring speech. Tomorrow, the party moves forward to begin the process of the change in power. Both the Senate and the House of Represenatives appear to also be Democratic led as well.

It’s been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this date in this election at this defining moment change has come to America.

Congratulations to our new Presidential Elect, Barack Obama.

Sarah Palin Wants To Do Fey Again

tina1.jpg

In recent weeks, Tina Fey has once again returned to her old stomping grounds at Saturday Night Live. This time, she has taken on the role of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Some might say the resemblance between the actress and the governor is uncanny. Palin has taken the joking jabs at her all in good cheer. She watched the first appearance while in transit to a campaign stop.

Now, after a second performance, Palin would like to head onto television to spoof Tina Fey spoofing her. She has said she took on the role of the actress before as she dressed up as her for Halloween.  No telling when Sarah Palin will make her appearance if it even happens. Some say it could happen on Saturday Night Live or the special Weekend Report series NBC has. What do you think of the politicians poking fun at the ones making fun of them? Good idea or bad?

Gays Want More From Celebrities

With the election coming up in November, one state is looking to reinstate the ban on gay marriage. Gay marriages became legal in California back in May, and now a law is on the November ballot that will once again make it illegal for gays to marry.

Some high profile gay celebrities have already walked down the aisle including Ellen Degeneres and George Takei. Other celebrities have also stepped in and offered their money and support to fight Proposition 8. The most recent being Brad Pitt, who is currently in New York City for the premiere of Angelina Jolie’s next movie, The Changeling.

However, gay campaigners are now saying celebrities aren’t doing enough. One activist states that now it is the time for the entertainment industry to take the lead.
