I am one of those from the generation that grew up watching Alyssa Milano grow up on Who’s The Boss? She went from a sports loving teenager tom boy to a young beautiful woman over the span of eight years while the series was on the air. She then went on to further her career with another long running series, Charmed. She seems to have the magic touch, pun not intended!
These days, she is still as into sports as Samantha Micelli was. She is into baseball, and she has even managed her own sports blog covering the Los Angeles Dodgers. Right now, major league baseball is in playoffs as we inch closer to the World Series. Both Los Angeles area teams, the Dodgers and the Angels, have made it to this point, but will one of them make it to the World Series?

This is a rare rant, but after seeing this talked about this morning, I have something to rant about. Bon Jovi, the New Jersey based rock band, has once again been snubbed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This is the second year the band could be eligible for membership, and the second year in a row Bon Jovi was not included for admission and the honor.
Yes, it is an honor, but there are few bands out there that have had to longetivity and have constantly worked to reinvent themselves, their music and put out new material as constantly as Bon Jovi. There next album The Circle will hit stores in November. There first single was released in August.

We are getting ready for the start of the next football season here in a moment, and it looks like the boys are still having fun in summer. This summer has already been eventful in the football world with the shocking death of former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair.
Now we have word about an incident out of Las Vegas where Ben Roethlisberger, quarters of the Championship Pittsburgh Steelers has been accused of sexual assault of an employee of Harrah’s Casino. A civil lawsuit has been brought against the quarterback.
No criminal charges have been filed, and both the team management and Ben’s lawyer fully support the quarterback. Sounds like someone might be looking to get their fifteen minutes of fame.
We are aware of the allegations but cannot comment on the specifics of the case. We’ve been told Ben’s side of the story and we fully support him at this time.
It seems like the death toll only keeps piling up as the summer goes on. Tuesday we will have the public memorial for Michael Jackson in Los Angeles, Billy Mays and Farrah Fawcett were both buried this week, and now we have another tragic death to report. Former NFL Quarterback Steve McNair was found shot to death in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday.
The football player was found with a gunshot to the head. A female companion was also found dead on the scene. Her identity was not released at first, but it is now known to be a friend of McNair’s, Sahel Kazemi. She died of one gunshot wound to the head, and he was shot several times. The gun was found near her body.The owner of the Tennessee Titans released this statement about McNair’s passing:
We are saddened and shocked to hear the news of Steve McNair’s passing today. He was one of the finest players to play for our organization and one of the most beloved players by our fans. He played with unquestioned heart and leadership and led us to places that we had never reached, including our only Super Bowl. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family as they deal with his untimely passing.
The Los Angeles Lakers had their game seven last night, and as we know when it comes to the Lakers they have many famous fans. One was caught going in to see the game with her little boy yesterday, Ryder. Kate Hudson looked calm and relaxed as she entered the arena.
Ready for the game, the little boy at her side is one of the cutest around, even with the long hair. Kate Hudson will soon be back to work filming her next movie on Oklahoma. Alex Rodriguez has been in the news a lot in the last year. From his divorce to the romance he had with Madonna, Alex has been busy. Now there is news that he tested positive for steroid use back in 2003. This shocking revelation was made by Sports Illustrated.
What makes this revelation so shocking is that this was the year Rodriguez did quite well for himself with the Texas Rangers. He won both the American League home run title and the American League Most Valuable Player title that year.
Rodriguez was one of one hundred and four players that tested positive during the 2003 testing, which was done to see if mandatory testing was needed back in 2004. When asked for comment about the results, Rodriguez had no comment.
Today is Super Bowl Sunday, and everyone is getting ready for the big game to air. Rocker Bruce Springsteen plans to take to the field during the half time show, and now comedian and actress Roseanne Barr has come out on her blog to demand Springsteen use his performance at the game to make a stand against the events in the Middle East.
She wants him to take on Barack Obama during the game. As for Obama, he has come out with his support for the Pittsburgh Steelers. In my opinion, this isn’t the right place or time for a political stand, but Roseanne doesn’t think about that, does she?
I have heard of idiots in my time, but this one wins the award for the biggest idiot I’ve seen in a long time. Let me tell you right now I know a lot of idiots too. Friday night while our partying, New York Giant Plaxico Burress headed out for a little partying when he accidentally shot himself in the leg. Instead of going to the hospital right off the bat like any normal person would do, he asked his teammate Antonio Pierce to help him hide the gun before. They threw it somewhere in New Jersey. Now there is a chance both men could face charges. This is a developing story. Idiot table of two!
Basketball superstar Thomas was hospitalized earlier this week after the police were called to his home. The former basketball player was having a party at his home, and the cops were called in just after midnight Friday. Alcohol and drugs were not a factor, but it is said he overdosed on sleeping pills.
By Friday afternoon, Thomas was trying to spin a different story. He said it was his daughter that was ill and not him. There was no overdose, and he wasn’t the one taken to the hospital. The cops have come out and refuted this. They say they know the difference between a man and a woman for one, and I’m sure we all know the difference between a 47 year old and a 17 year old. There are no records at the hospital of either Thomas or his daughter being admitted.
What really happened at the Thomas House the other night? We may never know!
Jon Bon Jovi and his band have been sued by a man that claims the singer stole lyrics from a song he wrote. Samuel Bartley Steele says Bon Jovi heard the song at a Kerry campaign stop back in 2004, and he used part of the lyrics in his song I Love This Town. Steele’s song was an anthem for the Boston Red Sox.
This is the kicker in all of this though. Steele is suing the singer for $400 billion dollars. Yes, everyone. I did say billion. There is almost no change that the man will see that amount, if he sees anything at all from the lawsuit. Bon Jovi’s representatives have not yet heard about this lawsuit.
